Evelyn has said she wanted to 'be country' for her 4th birthday. Not really sure what that meant, I asked her to explain. Evelyn went on to explain she wanted to pick her own fruits, ride a hayride and be country for her birthday. After a bit of research I found Apple Annie's Orchard in Wilcox, Az-so we made a day of it!We started out with a giant corn maze where Don took Dylan and Brooklyn on an adventure through he maze. Don said they did pretty good with the clues. While they were doing that, Evelyn and Joslyn went on the easier maze-Evelyn LOVED it, I couldn't slow her down.
After the corn maze we went on our hayride. The kids loved looking at the sunflowers there (I forgot our memory card and ran out of memory to take pictures, oops!) but they really LOVED riding on the hayride, and getting to pick their own pumpkins. On the ride we passed egg plants, peppers, squash and all sorts of other vegetables.
All in all, we had a great time spending time together as a family.
After getting home and changing clothes (boy were they dusty!) we found the kids had corn in their shoes, and Joslyn had corn in her shirt, and diaper. Guess they had to bring their own souvenior home. Don and I decided it was fun for all, that we'll have to come back, just have to look at the produce calendar to see what is in season, or what special activity they are offering.
All in all, we had a great time spending time together as a family.
